How to delete your WayUp account

You can ask us to delete your account and the personal information attached to it at any time. Here's how it works, what to send, and what to expect.

Send your request

Email privacy@wayup.com and tell us you want your account deleted. Email is the only route — there is no self-serve delete option.

1 Include the email address on the account, if you know it.

2 If you don't know the address or can't access it, send the link to the WayUp profile instead. A web search like "John Doe at WayUp" will usually surface it.

3 Send from the account's email address when you can — it helps us confirm the request is yours.

What happens next

Our support team processes your request as quickly as possible and may reach out if we need anything else to locate the account. Once the account is deleted, we email you to confirm your information has been removed from our servers.

Deletion is permanent

Once your account is deleted it can't be restored. Your profile, résumé, saved jobs, and application history go with it, and employers you've applied to can no longer see your profile. If you want to come back to WayUp later, you'll start with a new account from scratch.

If you don't want to lose your account

Deletion is the right answer sometimes. But if the real problem is smaller, one of these may fix it and keep your history:

Too many emails

Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any WayUp email, or turn off job alerts in your notification settings.

Not job hunting right now

Hide your profile from employers in your privacy settings. You stay searchable to no one until you switch it back on.

Requesting deletion for someone else

If you're requesting deletion of an account for a deceased or incapacitated user, follow the same steps above and say so in your email. Include the account email address or the profile link, and your relationship to the person. We may ask for documentation before we can act on the request.
